Cascade, Idaho (about 30 miles south of McCall) is a fishing enthusiast's paradise and gateway to the Frank Church Wilderness. 

The recreational development by the lake makes Cascade an ideal playground for the whole family. Shoreline access is excellent and numerous docks and ramps are available. The lake is well stocked with rainbow trout, coho salmon, kokanee, smallmouth bass, bullhead & channel catfish and perch. Good boat ramps are located near the town of Cascade and on the west side of the reservoir near Donnelly.


Cascade is the gateway to the Frank Church Wilderness area. Hunting, camping, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, rafting and kayaking are just a few of the outdoor recreational opportunities available. Back country ranches are accessible from the Cascade Airport, with approximately 4700 ft of paved and lighted runway. Cascade is home to approximately 1,050 permanent residents and it is the county seat for Valley County. 

Cascade offers year-round outdoor sports and recreation for everyone. Lake Cascade, one of the top fisheries in Idaho, is well known for its excellent fishing all year round. For winter sports enthusiasts, the Cascade area offers 800 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, as well as 27 km of Nordic ski trails.
